Mobile Distillery extends iPhone apps to rival devices
Mobile application production and testing solutions provider Mobile Distillery announced new tools and processes promising efficient migration of iPhone applications to mass-market Java ME phones and rival software platforms including BREW, Windows Mobile and Google Android. According to Mobile Distillery, its Alembic and Celsius software solutions offer developers the tools to migrate their iPhone applications to handsets sharing the Apple device's multimedia and connectivity features, effectively extending apps across the smartphone user population as well as millions of mid- and low-end phones.
Mobile Distillery reports its Alembic knowledge database combines more than 1,300 fully tested characteristics, behaviors and performances for over 1,000 handsets worldwide, enabling developers to measure and anticipate the compatibility of an iPhone application prior to migration. The Celsius automated development and porting suite oversees and optimizes all resources of the iPhone application (e.g., text, images, animations and sounds) via streamlined processes and automated resource management tools.
