Mobile messaging volume increases more than 20% in Q2
Mobile messaging enjoyed a record-breaking second quarter according to network infrastructure services provider Verisign, which enabled more than 52 billion messages during Q2, up more than 20 percent from the previous quarter. Through June 30, VeriSign's combined mobile messaging networks delivered 95.4 billion inter-carrier SMS messages, a record total for the first half of any year. The firm also reported a single-day record by enabling 648 million texts over a 24-hour period and a one-hour record of 42 million messages. VeriSign adds it is on pace to enable close to 200 billion total messages this year, translating to more than $7 billion in revenue.
