Mobile search company go2's growing page views
Mobile search company go2 announced that visits to its local search site increased 51 percent last year to more than 24.2 million unique user sessions, up from 15.9 million in 2004. The company's sites delivered more than 210 million page views of local information, up 37 percent from more than 150 million page views in 2004. The company also clocked 50 million ad impressions last year for such customers as ABC, American Express, Jamdat, ProFlowers.com and others. go2 claims its click-through rates are much higher than those on the Web because of its ability to target advertising by location and directory search category.
Mobile search is the biggest MoCo trend these past two weeks, no question about it. To recap: Microsoft acquired French mobile search firm Motionbridge, which had existing deals with Orange, Sprint and O2. Infospace is supposedly getting into the act and quietly signing up operators. And, of course, Google already has some one-button hot keys on handsets, a deal with Vodafone and a free mobile search app available on its site.
