MobiTV debuts new audience measurement tech

Mobile broadcast solutions provider MobiTV announced the introduction of a new form of mobile television audience measurement that employs its interactive technology to track viewership size and demographics in real time. According to MobiTV, its interactive mobile TV capabilities will enable broadcasters to collect data pinpointing the exact audience watching a particular show at a particular time, enabling programmers to offer highly targeted content complete with highly targeted advertisements. Media research firms Nielsen and Rentrak will each trial audience measurement solutions for tracking viewing on MobiTV-enabled devices.
