MobiTV flips past 3M subscriber mark
Mobile entertainment service provider MobiTV announced its worldwide subscriber total surpassed the 3 million threshold. In February 2007, the firm passed the 2 million subscriber mark, more than doubling its subscriber base in less than a year. MobiTV now boasts partnerships with more than 20 operators across the globe, delivering more than 100 channels of video content. In addition, the company said it has entered into a multi-year extension of its deal with Sprint, promising a series of new features and enhancements including an improved user interface, greater support for full-screen viewing, accelerated channel change speeds and support for more devices. Finally, MobiTV announced that newly-minted CEO Charlie Nooney was also appointed chairman of its board of directors.
