MobiTV now broadcasting live on iPhone

Mobile broadcast solutions provider MobiTV announced the launch of an application optimized for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch, promising consumers live and on-demand news, sports and primetime programming. The free MobiTV app includes 24/7 coverage from ABC News NOW, on-demand content from NBC News, NBC Sports, MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, stand-up comedy and cartoons--from there, iPhone users can upgrade to a premium package boasting eight live channels and over 30 on-demand outlets, including ESPN Mobile TV, ABC Mobile, CBS, Disney Channel, CNBC and Fox Business. The premium MobiTV experience is available for $9.99 per month--users can also subscribe in three-month ($24.99) and six-month ($44.99) increments.

The iPhone app launch follows on the heels of MobiTV's recent agreement with T-Mobile USA to preload its live mobile television app on the operator's exclusive HTC HD2. Thanks to the deal, MobiTV's mobile media services are now available across all four major U.S. operators.
