Regional operator U.S. Cellular and MobiTV are teaming to introduce U.S. Cellular Mobile TV, a downloadable mobile application featuring live television, video-on-demand content and offline viewing options. In addition to news, sports and scripted programming from networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN, The Disney Channel, MTV and Comedy Central, U.S. Cellular Mobile TV also boasts genre-specific content packages like Spanish-language content from Univision and other providers, as well as a children's-themed bundle featuring content from Nickelodeon, PBS Kids and related broadcasters.

U.S. Cellular Mobile TV is priced at $9.99 per month, with a seven-day free trial. The Kids TV package is priced at $4.99 per month, TV en Español is $7.99 a month and the Sports Pack is $5.99. For now, U.S. Cellular Mobile TV is limited to two compatible Android smartphones: The HTC Desire and Samsung Mesmerize.

MobiTV services are now available all premier mobile operating systems--the firm powers white-label services including AT&T (NYSE:T) U-Verse Live TV, T-Mobile TV and Sprint (NYSE:S) TV. Last month, Bloomberg reported that MobiTV has hired JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Deutsche Bank AG to manage its initial public offering, adding the company plans to go public by the end of 2011 and hopes to raise about $100 million.
