Moblyng scores $5.7 million in venture funding

Mobile social media solutions provider Moblyng announced the completion of a $5.7 million funding round led by MDV-Mohr Davidow Ventures and Deep Fork Capital. Previously known as Fliptrack, Moblyng's beta product enables consumers to view social media including photos, videos and slideshows on most feature phones, including handsets that do not otherwise permit Flash-based content--the technology automatically converts Flash content to mobile-friendly formats, "scraping" content from the user's social network page and sending it directly to their mobile device. Moblyng has also developed a Mobile Slide Show app for the Facebook platform.
