Modeo mobile TV goes beta

In related CES news, wireless infrastructure firm Crown Castle International announced that its Modeo subsidiary launched the beta version of its live mobile TV service in New York City following more than three years of development. Modeo--which is demonstrating its DVB-H mobile video standard at CES--said the NYC service includes live content from Fox News and Discovery Channel as well as streaming audio content from Music Choice. The company supplied Modeo Mobile TV Smartphones to beta service participants at the end of 2006 and will continue distribution throughout the quarter to come, with a formal beta test group scheduled to begin in late January.
