More Amp'd: Content outsourcing plan pending

Tools

The Wall Street Journal is reporting Amp'd Mobile will start reselling its aggregated mobile content to Japanese carrier KDDI. The "Amp'd Live" service includes American video clips and other content. KDDI keeps 10 percent of all sales with Amp'd splitting the remainder with the original content owners.

The move is somewhat similar to the model failed MVNO Mobile ESPN is now taking, although to say that Amp'd is headed to a similar fate would be grossly inaccurate. Seems like a smart play to bring in additional revenue streams.
