Most iPhone users download one to six apps each month

Sixty-two percent of iPhone users install between one and six new applications each month, and 22 percent download more than 11 new apps each month, according to new data issued by mobile advertising network AdMob. The report states that about 40 percent of all iPhone users use four to six apps at least once a week, and about 5 percent use more than 20 apps per week.

An overwhelming percentage of iPhone users download applications directly from Apple's App Store, with only 7 percent of consumers turning to Apple's iTunes digital platform for new apps, AdMob notes. The report notes that 62 percent of iPhone users look for new applications by searching for specific apps, and 60 percent also browse lists of top-selling apps--in addition, 46 percent of all iPhone users rely on recommendations from friends, 20 percent find new apps through ads in other applications and about 19 percent rely on news articles and blog posts.
