Motorola enables shifting DVR content to RAZR

Tools

The future demise of Sling Media was not an uncommon topic in the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center this past week, and one sign of its supposed death-knell is Motorola's latest announcement. Now owners of a Motorola DVR set-top box (STB) can shift content from the box to their RAZR V3x. While the technology is far from Sling's STB, which ports a user's home television feed over the Internet to the user's laptop for anywhere use, Motorola's announcement is still somewhat disruptive. The feature is the latest addition to Motorola's Follow Me TV suite, which is enabled by Motorola DVR STBs and the company's OCAP software solution. Once IPTV becomes more ubiquitous, the common IP infrastructure will lead to even more announcements like this.
