Motorola invests in Chinese mobile TV
Motorola's venture capital arm invested in three Chinese wireless companies yesterday, including an investment firm called Shanghai NewMargin Venture Capital Enterprise, Shenxun Information Technology Development and Legend Silicon. Shenxun develops mobile apps, including location-based services and enterprise solutions, while Legen Silicon designs and makes video chipsets for mobile TVs. Motorola claims that mobile TV will be the "next big thing" in the country. The investments mark Motorola's fifth investment in Chinese wireless companies, but no financials relating to the recent VC rounds were disclosed.
