Motorola invests in UI firm Sensitive Object

Motorola announced its Motorola Ventures strategic venture capital arm has made an unspecified investment in multi-touch platforms and natural user interface solutions provider Sensitive Object. Spun off from the French Science National Research Centre in 2003, Sensitive Object's patent-protected ReverSys software leverages acoustics to analyze sound waves emanating from the point of a touch, effectively transforming any product into a touch-based device. In addition, the firm's Anywhere MultiTouch platform extends "tactilization" to any device surface, enabling expanded virtual controls and next-generation user interfaces.
