Motorola Ventures aims at DARTdevices
Motorola Ventures, the VC arm of handset vendor giant Motorola, announced a Series A investment in software developer DARTdevices. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Founded in 2003, DARTdevices software enables multiple devices to directly access the combined content and applications of any DART-enabled device, addressing distribution, versioning, security, hardware compatibility and synchronization issues common to device-to-device interaction.
"DART's solution, which helps facilitate interoperability for multiple applications on disparate devices, aligns well with Motorola's vision of seamless mobility," Motorola Ventures investment manager Tony Palcheck said in a prepared statement. "Their software allows wired and wireless distribution of applications, games and information such as music, photos, video, calendars and data, across mobile phones, PCs, Internet servers, PDAs, set-tops, MP3 players and DVRs."
