Motricity to deploy mCore platform via Indian operator giant Reliance
Indian operator Reliance will deploy mobile content solutions provider Motricity's hosted, mobile-as-a-service mCore platform to better oversee its growing mobile data services business. Per Motricity's 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Reliance serves more than 100 million subscribers. The mCore platform offers operators tools to manage their mobile content, web, messaging and marketing efforts--according to an SEC filing earlier this year, Motricity provides mobile data services to more than 30 million subscribers worldwide.
In related Motricity news, the company unveiled its end-to-end Mobile as a Service offering, combining the mCore platform and solution suite with cloud-based infrastructure as well as managed and professional services. According to Motricity, its carrier-grade cloud infrastructure features SLA-backed hosting facilities and geo-redundant data centers, information security management, application services, data management and application hosting--the MaaS offering also touts expert project management tools along with application, infrastructure and business management services enabling operators to more quickly and cost-effectively deliver branded mobile data initiatives.
