MovieTickets.com goes mobile

Internet movie ticketing service MovieTickets.com announced the launch of a new mobile web application enabling moviegoers to search for a movie by location or title, buy tickets, access new release listings and box office information, read movie news and view detailed local area maps to the theater and related destinations. The MovieTickets.com mobile web app also offers personalization features including recall of individual searches and favorite theaters, promising quick and easy access to movies and showtimes in specific locations. The service was developed in conjunction with wireless application service provider MobileGates--in addition to the mobile.movietickets.com site, there is also a site optimized for iPhone users: iphone.movietickets.com. MovieTickets.com added it plans to introduce premium movie-themed mobile content including games, ringtones, wallpapers and screensavers.
