MSN Direct goes mobile

Microsoft announced it is launching a mobile incarnation of its multi-platform MSN Direct news and information service on Windows Mobile-based devices. Promising instant access to weather and stock updates, top news stories and entertainment, sports and business headlines, the free MSN Direct for Windows Mobile Technology application emphasizes a glanceable, customized content format accessible directly from the device home screen and updated automatically. Content partners include Foreca for current weather information, Comstock Resources for stock prices, and MSNBC for news. For more in-depth information on a user's favorite subjects, MSN Direct also provides links to relevant areas of the MSN Mobile portal. "[MSN Direct] is a really simple way to do a lot on your phone," said MSN Direct director of marketing Holly Kemp in an interview with FierceMobileContent. "The information is delivered quickly, in a format that's easy to read and access. It's like changing channels on a TV set."
