mSpot premieres streaming Mobile Movies app for iPhone
Mobile entertainment firm mSpot announced the release of mSpot Mobile Movies, a native iPhone application enabling consumers to stream feature-length films via their Apple smartphone. According to mSpot, the free application is optimized for both 3G and WiFi support, and boasts full DVD-like playback functions--users can start screening a film on their iPhone and continue their viewing on a PC (or vice versa), or begin watching from a favorite chapter. mSpot Mobile Movies offers more than 900 titles from studio partners including Universal, Paramount and Disney--prices vary per title from $1.99 to $4.99. mSpot also offers a handful of free films.
mSpot first introduced a browser-based version of Mobile Movies in September, with support for over 30 different handsets including BlackBerry and Windows Mobile smartphones.
