MTV, Alltel expand content partnership
Alltel Wireless announced a significant expansion of its mobile content and programming partnership with MTV Networks, adding on-demand video, WAP sites, games and personalization features from across the media giant's family of cable channels. Alltel and MTVN will introduce mobile video content from Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, CMT, The N, Spike TV, MTV Tr3s, GameTrailers.com and IFILM, with the operator also launching mobile websites from Comedy Central, MTV and VH1. In addition, the partnership will yield games and personalization features from franchises including "South Park," "The Hills" and "SpongeBob SquarePants."
Alltel will make select MTVN content accessible via the carrier's exclusive, patent-pending Celltop UI technology. "With Alltel, MTV Networks is gaining an excellent wireless carrier and access to a customer base that mirrors the diverse audiences of our brands," said MTV Networks EVP of digital distribution and business development Greg Clayman in a prepared statement.
