Multiplied Media to acquire UnoMobi Group

Mobile local search services provider Multiplied Media, the firm behind location app Poynt--winner of the BlackBerry Partners Fund developer challenge in October 2008--announced it has entered a letter of intent to acquire mobile messaging solutions developer UnoMobi Group. According to Multiplied Media, UnoMobi brings with it a patent portfolio including two patents for pushing commercial offers to users of GPS-enabled wireless devices who provide limited profile data as well a patent-pending email-to-SMS solution that extends push email service to basic mobile phones. Multiplied Media adds that the integration of UnoMobi technology into the Poynt app will offer greater value to users who wish to receive location- and profile-centric advertiser offers.
