Tools

Mobile software and platform solutions developer Myriad Group AG announced its acquisition of privately-held mobile social networking services provider Xumii. Financial terms were not disclosed.  The cloud-based Xumii solution integrates users' mobile contacts, social networks and instant messaging services into a single "social phonebook" to enable simultaneous access to services including Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, YouTube, Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, AIM and Windows Live--users can send messages, update their status and share photos and videos.

According to Myriad--which provides software to device manufacturers as well as more than 30 mobile operators across the globe--it acquired Xumii's brand, technology and 17 employees in the transaction.
