MyxerTones duets with bandVillage

Mobile media platform developer MyxerTones announced an agreement to integrate its Myxer user-generated content service into independent music website bandVillage, enabling artists and labels to upload, distribute and sell customized ringtones, wallpapers and related content via the bandVillage site. According to MyxerTones, the platform enables indie artists to distribute their content to millions of mobile phones sans carrier deals or contracts: bandVillage acts that upload content via Myxer will be able to choose between free or premium download models, and all content will be added to the MyxerTones catalog.

"We wanted to provide our artists with access to mobile distribution, to compliment the physical and digital distribution that bandVillage currently provides," said Peter Fleming, bandVillage founder. "The Myxer platform enables us to provide our artists the ability to promote, market, and distribute their music to the enormous mobile marketplace without the complications, restrictions or artistic limitations typically associated with some of the big music labels."
