NBC bows original mobile series

Tools

The NBC network says it will produce 20, 90-second original programs developed for mobile phones. "Pale Force" is based on the animated sketch bits of the same name featured on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." The mobile stream will be exclusive to Sprint Nextel subscribers for a week before being posted to NBC's website for others to download.

The series creator, Jim Gaffigan, will present new two-part episodes each month, part one to air on the "Late Night" show and part two aired via mobile/Web. This seems like a much more interesting strategy than that unveiled by Showtime yesterday.
