NBC steps up mobile video efforts

In conjunction with the networks' annual upfronts, NBC Digital Entertainment announced it will significantly increase its mobile streaming video efforts, promising more than 500 short-form streaming clips across 30 show WAP sites. NBC's WAP sites also include series recaps, bios, photos and quizzes, with the network also launching a new iPhone-optimized site featuring improved functionality and speed. NBC Digital Entertainment will also debut new webisode series inspired by the primetime hits The Office and Heroes as well as Jay's Garage, an interactive auto enthusiast site tied to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that enables fans to upload video, photos and specs of their vehicles.
