NBC Universal Digital Studio to launch 'Gemini Division'

Tools

Four months after announcing its reorganization, NBC Universal Digital Studio will unveil its first multi-platform series Gemini Division on August 18. The 50-minisode sci-fi series, which stars Rosario Dawson and Justin Hartley, will premiere on NBC.com and SciFi.com as well as its own dedicated microsite, GeminiDivision.com, in addition to NBC Mobile, video-on-demand services and gaming platforms. Advertisers including Intel, Cisco, Microsoft, Acura and UPS are integrated into the Gemini Division storyline, about a vice cop (Dawson) who discovers a race of artificial life forms.

Its so important that Gemini Division does well. It’s the kind of innovative product that injects the interactivity of the internet into the traditional lean back viewing model of old media.

Its success would bring much needed attention to a groundswell of indie interactive web TV projects like ours.

One gripe though is geoblocking the show to the US, I think its a cop out, failing to fully embrace the tenets of operating on the internet by making it virally distributable and available worldwide.

All this new technology and web based idea is great and I am sure that you are lookng for viewers to support your ratings but how do we view this in the UK, as when I enter the GD and scifi websites, it states that viewing is unavailable from my location.

Please do advise as I would be very interetsed to view this.

Kindst regards

Lila
