NBC Universal relaunches digital content effort

Tools

NBC Universal relaunched its Digital Studio, emphasizing a new focus on branded entertainment and announcing a strategic partnership with advertising and communications firm Omnicon Media Group Digital. According to NBC, work is already underway on two new digital series: Gemini Division, a sci-fi series project starring Rosario Dawson and sponsored by Intel, Microsoft, UPS and Acura, and the zombie comedy Woke Up Dead. While distribution will initially focus on NBC Universal-owned websites, the network's executive vice president of digital entertainment and new media Vivi Zigler tells The Hollywood Reporter that plans to explore mobile distribution channels are also afoot.
