New Motion names Sue Swenson COO

Digital entertainment company New Motion Inc. announced the appointment of former T-Mobile chief operating officer Sue Swenson to its COO position. Swenson most recently served as COO of the ill-fated MVNO Amp'd Mobile. According to New Motion, Swenson was recruited to optimize the firm's assets and brands, and will support its future expansion. "New Motion is coming of age, and as we prepare the company for its next phase of growth, we are fortunate to have an executive with Sue's abilities and impressive credentials on board," said Burton Katz, New Motion CEO. "Sue has been a major player in the wireless industry since its inception, and she will be an excellent addition to the team."

Prior to joining T-Mobile in 2004, Swenson served five years as president and COO of Leap Wireless--from 1994 through 1999, she was president and CEO of Cellular One. She first entered the mobile market in 1979 via Pactel Cellular.
