New MVNO targets Hispanic market
Holding company Titan Global will expand its T Wireless division with the launch of Picante Movil, a new MVNO brand offering content and services expressly targeted to the Hispanic market, the fastest-growing demographic sector for prepaid mobile transactions. Picante Movil will seek to capture a Latino sector that pays an average of $67 per month for wireless services, $7 more per month than the general U.S. population, according to Scarborough Research.
The Picante Movil brand is an extension of Titan's Picante prepaid calling card business, which includes a sales network of 60,000-plus retailers. "Because of the success of the Picante product line, we have powerful opportunities for expanding our wireless MVNO subscriber base," said Titan Global CEO Bryan Chance in a prepared statement. "By leveraging the 35 million prepaid phone cards [the company's Oblio Telecom subsidiary] sells annually, as well as our existing distribution channels and the integration of our expanding e-commerce presence, we are confident we will continue to grow our MVNO subscriber base in a profitable manner."
