The New Yorker goes mobile with Goings On app

Tools

Condé Nast-owned The New Yorker is launching Goings On, a free mobile application that brings the magazine's Goings On About Town cultural listings section to the iOS and Android platforms.

Goings On - The New Yorker

Goings on brings The New Yorker's Goings On About Town section to Android and iOS.

Along with Goings On About Town staples like theatre, art, nightlife, classical music, dance, movies and restaurant listings, the Goings On app also boasts exclusives like the My New York section (which features staff writers and artists expounding on their favorite events and locations), audio tours and a running Twitter commentary on Big Apple culture.

Goings On About Town editor Ben Greenman states that the app is designed to complement the section, not replace the print version, adding mobile tools like maps for all events, GPS-based location data, links to buy tickets and contact venues, date and location filters, and clip-and-save features for users to keep track of their cultural calendar.
