Nickelodeon debuts kid-themed iPhone apps

Nickelodeon has new iPhone appsFamily entertainment giant Nickelodeon announced a series of new iPhone and iPod touch applications highlighted by its first-ever app tied to its annual Kids' Choice Awards, airing Mar. 27. The free app includes live video streams documenting Orange Carpet celebrity arrivals and backstage action, and also enables viewers to vote for their favorites with the touch of a button.

Nickelodeon's latest premium iPhone games include A to Z with Moose & Zee, Diego Snowboard Rescue and High School Cheerleader, all priced at $1.99, while Sky Storm arrives with a 99 cent price tag. Also in the pipeline: Free versions of fan favorites Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom and Go, Diego, Go: Musical Missions. According to Nickelodeon, its full suite of apps has generated close to 5 million downloads in the last year.
