Nokia to extend Comes to Music to U.K.
Nokia will launch its Comes With Music mobile initiative in the U.K. next month, with plans to extend the service across continental Europe and Asia next year. To promote Comes With Music--which enables consumers to purchase a year of unlimited music downloads via mobile handsets bundled with Nokia's Ovi web services platform--the handset giant will team with retailer Carphone Warehouse to sell the Nokia 5310, a music-enabled handset targeted to the pay-as-you-go market. While Nokia declined to offer pricing details for Comes With Music, it cited surveys suggesting consumers would be willing to pay between £100 and £300 (roughly $178 and $535 U.S.) for the handset and the music service.
