Nokia, Spike Lee to premiere user-generated film
Nokia announced it will premiere Nokia Productions, a user-generated multimedia film created in collaboration with director Spike Lee. The handset giant will debut the project--first announced this spring--Tuesday night in Los Angeles, with a simultaneous online premiere at http://www.nokiaproductions.com. The so-called social film integrates user-generated mobile content to spotlight "the way music tells the story of humanity," with Lee directing the film digitally via the web while guiding and critiquing submissions as they were entered--according to Nokia, users submitted over 4,000 original texts, video clips, images and songs, with more than 350,000 visitors accessing the website between April and September.

It seems Spike is getting everywhere and taking the digital web video seriously, l remember his partnering with Babelgum releasing UNICEF film footage of “Jesus Children of America” exclusively there for people to view as well a being on a jury for Babel film festival.
Now he is working with nokiaproductions.com, Nokia in the UK sponsored short 15 second films, for the nokia shorts. I wonder which other telco's or productions companies are going down this route.
