Nokia's Comes With Music coming to the U.S.
Nokia is reportedly poised to launch its Comes With Music download service in the U.S. in conjunction with this month's introduction of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device (a.k.a. The Tube). Comes With Music--which enables consumers to purchase a year of unlimited music downloads via mobile handsets bundled with Nokia's Ovi web services platform--launched in the U.K. late last year; according to The Nokia Blog, the handset giant will begin offering the Nokia 5800 via U.S. retailers on Feb. 26, with a suggested retail price of $399. CNet reports the introduction of The Tube translates to a corresponding U.S. music service.
While the U.S. debut remains unsubstantiated, Nokia officially confirmed it will launch Comes With Music in Singapore, heralding the service's second market launch worldwide and its introduction to the Asian region. According to Nokia, it will deliver Comes With Music to Singapore consumers via the new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic as well as on Comes With Music editions of the Nokia N96, Nokia N85, Nokia N79, Nokia 5320 XpressMusic and 5220 XpressMusic.
