Novarra powers U.S. Cellular mobile web relaunch

Mobile web solutions developer Novarra announced its newest Vision Browser will power regional operator U.S. Cellular's relaunched mobile Internet offering. According to Novarra, the Vision browsing solution is optimized for each specific network, handset and web activity performed--the Vision server is a central network component enabling web content transformation, network acceleration, content optimization and device specific customization, while the Vision Mobile Dashboard offers one-click access to commonly visited websites, featured partner content and user personalization. The Vision solution also includes advanced usability options like SmartNav, Zoom, Snapshot, and Password Manager.

The revamped U.S. Cellular service promises subscribers full web access, unlimited data and email in addition to pay-as-you-go pricing alternatives--the carrier reports that over the past year, its mobile web user numbers have doubled, with page views more than tripling.
