NPR mobile news app tops 1 million downloads

National Public Radio's NPR News application, launched for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch devices, surpassed the 1 million download benchmark in its first month of availability from the App Store according to developer partner Bottle Rocket Apps. In addition, Bottle Rocket touted the release of NPR News 1.1, an updated version of the free app that includes tools to share news stories via Facebook, Twitter or email as well as pause, fast forward and rewind radio programs and pinch-zoom news story images.
