Nuance talks up voice-enabled mobile music search

Tools

And still more from CTIA: Speech and imaging solutions provider Nuance Communications debuted its Nuance Mobile Music Service Package, which offers consumers instant access to mobile music and ringtones via voice command, effectively removing text-based searches from the equation. The solution includes voice search functionality including song title and artist name, as well as custom grammars optimizing search across a catalog of more than 1.5 million individual titles. "Ringtones are complete impulse buys--if you can find it, you'll buy it, and if you don't find it, you don't buy it," said Nuance VP of worldwide marketing and operations Peter Mahoney in an interview with FierceMobileContent. "Speech is the great equalizer. It lets everyone take advantage of [mobile content] services."  - Jason
