Ontela to acquire Photobucket from MySpace?

Tools

MySpace is reportedly close to selling a majority interest in its Photobucket image and video sharing website to mobile imaging solutions provider Ontela.  Citing a source with knowledge of the deal, TechCrunch reports MySpace--which acquired Photobucket for $250 million in 2007--will retain some equity in the web service, which currently brings in about 54 million users worldwide each month. Both Ontela and MySpace declined comment.

Ontela's mobile solution automatically saves photos snapped via mobile handsets to email, PC and web photo albums. Its products are available on more than 100 devices from 30 mobile operators.
