Messaging solutions firm Openwave has named its new CEO: Mike Mulica will take the reins from interim CEO Anne Brennan, who will continue in her role as chief financial officer. In 1999, Mulica joined Openwave precursor Phone.com and as senior vice president helped lead the company's $9 billion acquisition of Software.com, which resulted in the formation of Openwave. Mulica later served as CEO of mobile content portability services provider FusionOne, acquired by Synchronoss in mid-2010--post-acquisition, he was named Syncronoss' president and head of strategy and corporate development.
