Openwave slashes jobs
Openwave, the company best known for bringing WAP browsers to the world, axed four senior executives and laid off an additional 65 employees yesterday in a move designed to "reduce the layers of management" between customers and the company. Right. Affected are chief marketing officer Jody Bilney, chief administrative officer Steven Peters, chief operating officer Allen Snyder, and chief corporate strategy and business development officer Richard Wong. The action will cost Openwave between $8.5 million to $10 million to cover expenses.
