Over half of Nokia users downloading Ovi Store content
Fifty-nine percent of Nokia device users have begun downloading content from the handset giant's fledgling Ovi Store since the application storefront went live late last month. According to a user survey conducted by Nokia, 31 percent of Ovi Store users have downloaded between two and five pieces of content from the store, and 6 percent have downloaded more than 10 pieces. However, 36 percent of Nokia users have yet to download anything from Ovi Store, and 5 percent admit they don't even know what the Ovi Store is.
After launching with just over 1,000 apps, Ovi Store is now approving about 100 applications per day, Nokia vice president of media Marco Argenti tells Forbes. The store currently supports 75 different Nokia models, and--accounting for variations in screen sizes, memory, processing power and operating systems--there are about 2,000 pieces of content available for most users, including apps as well as ringtones and wallpapers.

it's an online poll on the nokia blog ! hardly representative of your average Nokia users.
It's not half of Nokia users, its half of the 400 Nokia blog readers who answered an online poll on the blog itself. It's statistically valueless.
the title is a bit misleading. If Ovi only covers 75 different models of the 100's of different phone models out there so it's statistically impossible that 59% of Nokia users are using the service if not all handsets are configured. Furthermore, there's no mention at all of the sample size used by Nokia to arrive at this number so it makes it impossible to assess with any real meaning.
From a developer point of view the important thing here is the scale which Nokia still hasn't said anything about. how many downloads did they do the first week? first month? by category?
if developers can't get scale then the service looses value. Further, the other key thing here is how many people have installed the Ovi client on their handset. Keep in mind you have to have the client pre-installed before downloading content. So if developers / content owners don't know this then it makes it difficult to know the addressable market. This article fails to mention this as well which is a shame.
