Pandora app shares 'mass quantities' of user data, researcher says
The Pandora streaming music application transmits "mass quantities" of personal information to advertising agencies according to Tyler Shields, senior researcher for app security testing firm Veracode. "When compiled into a single unifying picture, [the data] can provide significant insight into a person's life," Shields writes. Pandora is one of multiple application developers served with subpoenas in conjunction with a federal grand jury investigation into consumer information sharing across the iOS and Android operating systems.
