Paramount debuts enhanced movie apps for Windows Phone 7

Tools

Paramount Digital Entertainment launched 10 enhanced movie apps optimized for Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone 7 operating system, touting enhanced content like menus, bonus features and social media experiences unavailable across other platforms. Built using Microsoft Silverlight technology and developed in collaboration with Digitalsmiths, Hypershow and Trailer Park, the apps include Paramount Pictures features like the classic School of Rock, Zoolander, Waiting for Superman and GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, with additional titles to come; according to Paramount, WP7 users can create custom clips, view the movie with pop-up trivia, and access Movie Info features identifying actors, objects, music and places in the movie along with contextual information like bios, descriptions and maps to onscreen locations.

The School of Rock movie app is available now from Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace hub on all North American Windows Phone 7 devices, or on the desktop via the free Zune PC software. Paramount will release additional titles and expand to the international market by the end of 2010.
