Paramount Digital Entertainment inks mobile comics deal

Tools

Paramount Digital Entertainment announced a partnership with Singapore-based animation studio Omnitoons to produce a series of manga-styled mobile comics series based on Paramount motion picture properties including Mission: Impossible and the upcoming Eagle Eye. According to Variety, Paramount and Omnitunes will launch the collaboration with a mobile adaptation of the British hit Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging--each comic will be available in MMS and J2ME formats, with distribution in the U.S., Europe, Australia and India. Paramount said while it views the mobile comics as a marketing tool to support feature films prior to or during their theatrical release, it will still introduce each title as a premium mobile download.
