Paramount Pictures announced its Paramount Digital Entertainment division will launch a new mobile unit to license, develop and distribute content for the mobile platform. Headed by senior VP of mobile and interactive Sandi Isaacs, who also spearheads Paramount's videogame efforts, the unit has named AT&T's former senior director of consumer business development Madeline Herdich vice president of mobile for the North American market, with Disney veteran Pradeep Mittur named VP of mobile for Asia-Pacific and Sony Pictures alum Giovanni Marcuca tapped as VP of mobile for EMEA. "With leaders from the mobile entertainment industry strategically located in key regions throughout the world, we now have the ability to directly distribute our mobile content to consumers via carriers and leading aggregators," Isaacs told Variety. Paramount will focus on creating new games, video content and downloads for its existing WAP sites, as well as expand its current partnerships with operators including AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile.
