Paramount premieres movie apps via Windows Phone 7

Paramount Digital Entertainment will expand its series of movie apps optimized for smartphones running Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone 7 operating system, unveiling additional titles as well as new features and functionality.

Mean Girls - Windows Phone 7 & Paramount Deal

Mean Girls and School of Rock will be among the first films available on Paramount's Enhanced Movie Apps on Windows Phone 7.

Paramount first introduced the Enhanced Movie Apps series in late 2010--built using Microsoft Silverlight technology and developed in collaboration with Digitalsmiths, Hypershow and Trailer Park, each interactive application includes a full-length motion picture as well as menus, social networking capabilities and bonus features like clip sharing, Scene It in-feature trivia games, actor biographies and keyword search capabilities.

Paramount's Enhanced Movie Apps begins with updated editions of School of Rock and Mean Girls, both available for download now via Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace. Moving forward, Paramount will roll out a new app every week, with forthcoming titles including True Grit, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Zoolander and The Italian Job.
