Personalized talk radio app maker Stitcher closes $10M Series C round
Stitcher, which creates customizable audio programming applications for mobile platforms including Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS and Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android, closed a Series C venture financing round totaling $10 million, bringing the startup's total funding to date to $20 million. New Enterprise Associates led the latest round, which also includes contributions from return investors Benchmark Capital and New Atlantic Ventures as well as tech veterans like Ron Conway.

The free Stitcher app enables mobile subscribers to create personalized talk radio streams culled from more than 6,000 different broadcast programs and podcasts spanning news, entertainment, sports and comedy--highlights include NPR's Fresh Air, Fox Sports, CNN News, E!'s Chelsea Lately and the acclaimed comedy podcast WTF with Marc Maron. Stitcher continuously updates all selected programs with new episodes and content, with no downloads or syncing necessary. In addition to smartphones, users can access Stitcher content via in-vehicle systems like Ford SYNC and Buick IntelliLink.
Stitcher said it will target the new funding to fuel growth, expand its direct sales tea, and drive content platform development. The firm adds that its content offerings increased 50 percent in the last year, with listening time quadrupling during the same period.
