Playdom acquires iPhone gaming firm Trippert Labs

Hot on the heels of completing a Series A funding round valued at $43 million, social gaming startup Playdom announced it will acquire iPhone and social game developer Trippert Labs as well as Facebook developer Green Patch. Terms of both transactions were not disclosed. Trippert titles include MobRacer, Bug Olympics, Armada and The Godfather II: Crime Rings--according to Playdom, the acquisition bolsters its development capacity by more than 25 percent. At the same time, Green Patch's games will increase Playdom's monthly Facebook user base by more than 30 percent--Green Patch's resource management game (Lil) Farm Life alone boasts over one million daily active users.
