'Pocket God' expands from iPhone to Verizon Wireless

Tools

Mobile software developer Bolt Creative will extend its bestselling iPhone game Pocket God to selected Verizon Wireless phones. Issued through a publishing agreement with Capcom Mobile, Pocket God is available for a host of BREW-based feature phones and 3G multimedia devices via the Verizon Wireless Media Store--consumers can choose between a monthly subscription option priced at $2.99 or a one-time download for $6.99.

First released in January 2009, Pocket God--a casual game giving users the opportunity to rule their own remote island, complete with deity-like powers--has released close to three dozen free updates. Last month, the title (the subject of a recent FierceDeveloper profile) surpassed 3 million App Store downloads, concurrent with the release of Pocket God #1, the first issue of a new comic book miniseries based on the property.
