PopCap acquires Retro64

Casual games developer and publisher PopCap announced its acquisition of puzzle and arcade-inspired game developer Retro64, best known for titles including "Cosmic Bugs," "Water Bugs," and the newly released "Venice." Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Retro64's Chicago office will serve as a satellite PopCap development studio under the supervision of Retro64 founder and chief producer Mike Boeh, and will continue to create original casual games for distribution across multiple platforms.
